Intercessions – October 17-18, 2009
For our sharing parishes, Ste. Anne, St. Patrick, St. Henry, Ojo Seco and Santo Tomas, for joy in living the gospel, and strength in faith, hope and love, we pray.
For the dead and mourning in the Philippines, in Pakistan, in Afghanistan, in Iraq, for all in harm’s way, for the soldier’s in the uniform of every nation, for peaceworkers, we pray.
For civic leaders, for courage in the face of criticism, for movement toward just health care reform, we pray.
For all touched by the recession, for failing businesses, for the newly unemployed and for those discouraged by the job search, for generosity and for care of each other, we pray.
For those celebrating the rite of welcoming this weekend, as they begin their journey to holding and proclaiming the Catholic faith, for John Brabek, Charles Lehman, and Valerie Spurlin, an fro Sophia Burke, being welcomed into the catechumenate, as we she prepares for baptism, confirmation and eucharist, for grace and insight, we pray.
For our sick, out of their anguish may they see light, for all those whose names are written in our parish book of prayer, especially for those whose names have just been added, Luis Carranza, Lucy Chleboun and Jimena Kasper, we pray. . .
For our dead, approaching the throne of grace with boldness, especially
Maria Wandel and Bob Strader, both who died this past week and for
