First Sunday in Lent  February 20-21, 2010

For all the Children of the Book,
    Christians, Muslims and Jews;
    For our brothers and sisters, sons and daughters in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Darfur, in Jerusalem
      for all who raise their voices for peace,  for all who put down their weapons...

 For all who suffer from storm, drought and famine
          from war and from want, for the people of Haiti. . .

For those preparing to celebrate the Easter sacraments
    For grace, for wisdom, for generosity
    For hearts broken open to the gifts of the Spirit...

For our parish, praying, fasting and almsgiving this Lent.
    For the courage to do justice
    For the humility to serve
    For the love that helps us hold one another.
        in good times and in times of challenge...

For our sick, that they find God’s refreshment in their desert.  We pray for all those whose names are written in our parish book of prayer, and for Justin Clark, Derrick Blakeley, Ariel Gauthier, Joseph Leary, and Mario Tamayo. .

For our dead and for those who mourn them. We pray for, Margaret Early, mother of Carol Cooney, George Wolf, husband of Pat Wolf,  Bob Lemberger, uncle of Aaron Zeleske, Joseph Sandrock, nephew of Kate Zilla, William Nissley, uncle of Julie Drew.

For strength in praying, fasting and giving alms this Lent, for all the prayers in our hearts, and in this, our parish book of prayer...
