Youth Ministry Lenten Service Retreat

Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20

New Horizons Youth Group is sponsoring its Lenten Service Retreat beginning Friday, March 19 at 7:30 pm and ending Saturday March 20 at 6:00pm.  This retreat is a wonderful opportunity for the young people of St. Nicks to get out in the community and do some good things for and with our neighbors.  This is an overnight event, with participants spending Friday night at St. Nick’s Youth Room.  Participants will spend Saturday engaging in a number of different volunteer activities at service sites around the Evanston community.  The service sites include Misericordia where youth will have an opportunity to interact with people with developmental disabilities.  Another site is Good News Partners, an organization that provides affordable housing in the North of Howard neighborhood.  Other sites are still pending and will depend on the number of participants we have.  Teens with other commitments who can only be present for part of the retreat are still welcome as long as I am notified when they will be leaving.  The retreat is free of charge.  Please sign and return the permission slip by March 17.
