Counseling and Mental Health Resources

Dr. Juan Hinojosa (Bilingual English and Spanish)

Picture
Might this be a time for some spiritual companionship, of the virtual variety? Juan L. Hinojosa, an experienced spiritual director will be available for 30 minute periods every day for the next week from 4 to 6 pm.  He has a Ph.D. in spirituality and has engaged in both individual and group spiritual direction. To be able to participate you will need a computer or tablet that has both a microphone and speakers (you can also use headphones). We can connect through Facetime, Google Chat or Zoom, with Zoom being the preferred mode. You will be taught how to connect if you need to learn. Send a message with your interest to Dr. Juan Hinojosa, solidbridge@gmail.com.
Peace and blessings in this trying time.

Mike McCauley (English only)

Peace and good wishes to you during this challenging time. It’s Mike McCauley, the Parish Counselor, writing to see how everyone is doing… and to share some ideas about the ways in which I’m helping parishioners who desire counseling during the coronavirus outbreak.

Starting this week, I’ve begun to offer “virtual” psychotherapy sessions via Zoom video conferencing, and over the phone when people are more comfortable talking in that way. If you find a need for counseling, and are interested in working in this fashion, I do have some openings at present. Since I’m not driving to my parishes, or to Claret Center, my time is now a bit more flexible. Mindful of the difficulties everyone is having with day-to-day life right now, I can offer my services on a sliding scale… with reduced-fee sessions that are affordable for everyone. So, if you would like to talk, or to explore whether counseling might be helpful for you, please feel free to call or write. Take care, and stay well!

“Praise be to you, my Lord, through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us, and who produces various fruit with coloured flowers and herbs” In the words of this beautiful canticle, Saint Francis of Assisi reminds us that our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to embrace us.  -- From the encyclical "Laudato Sí"
