When: Good Friday, April 10, 2020 Time: 12 PM Where: Virtual meeting, open to the public Go to bit.ly/VirtualWOTC to find the link for the meeting For over 20 years, we have gathered on Good Friday to commemorate the passion of Christ through a Way of the Cross among D.C. institutions. This year, we will gather virtually. The observance of Christ’s passion is an opportunity to reflect on the ways we have broken our covenant with God at the expense of other persons and creation. For each station we will focus on a different economic or ecological challenge or sign of hope for our times. Persons of all faiths are welcome. Please join us for this virtual prayer gathering! If you are unable to join the virtual meeting at 12 PM on Good Friday but would like to pray this Way of the Cross another time, you can find the script and visuals from the virtual meeting at bit.ly/VirtualWOTC FOR MORE INFORMATION: Email ogc@maryknollogc.org Day of event, call: 202.680.0590 The text for this year's Good Friday Walk for Justice, a contemporary Way of the Cross held each year at noon on Good Friday in downtown Chicago for 40 years now, is available for virtual use this year. Dear Community Leader, We are writing to you as a community leader to urgently ask for your assistance in helping NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Illinois are on the rise, and all of us must continue to take aggressive action to keep our communities safe. With this new virus, we are learning that there is an expanding list of possible symptoms so now, more than ever, we need to get the word out. We ask you and other leaders of your organization to call your members and other community contacts as soon as possible and ask them if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or if any members of their households are experiencing these symptoms. If a person says “yes,” please strongly urge them to contact NorthShore for immediate screening and possible testing. If the answer is “no,” we still remind people to be alert for the virus’s symptoms, to take their temperatures twice daily and to follow the key safety measures we have on our website at northshore.org. Below you will find a “script” for the calls as well as information about COVID-19 symptoms and prevention that we need you to convey. If you would like training, I am happy to hold conference calls with you and other community leaders to walk you through how to best make these calls. Please contact Mark Schroeder at mschroeder@northshore.org / 847.933.6004 if you would like to participate in a call and we will arrange that for you. The effect of this virus can be mitigated with your participation. On behalf of everyone at NorthShore, thank you very much in advance for your help on this urgent and vital public safety issue. Sincerely, Lakshmi K. Halasyamani, MD Chief Quality and Transformation Officer During this time of isolation, uncertainty and fear, I am extremely grateful for the great and tireless work of all of you. I know that you continue to nurture the Christian-Catholic faith in our children. As we enter into the most Sacred and Holy Days of our Church Year - the Easter Triduum, take time to pray together as a family. During Holy Week there will be many moments of grace for you and your family to celebrate Holy Week. The Religious Education office, our pastor - father Joseph Tito-, the coordinator, Juanita Tamayo, and all members of the pastoral team of Saint Nicholas parish, want to let you know that we are here for you during this time of crisis. The St. Nicholas Pastoral Team is within reach via telephone or email. We are here to listen to what your needs are, both spiritual and social, and offer the necessary support. Please note that St. Nicholas parish adheres to directives of the Archdiocese of Chicago, who, in coordination with the local and federal governments, follow the recommendations of the medical and scientific advisers who determine the guidelines of social distancing, which will remain in effect until further notice, at least until April 30, 2020. Therefore, we want to inform you that:
Please share this information with the families you know and who probably have not received emails or don't review our website. |
