Dear Community Leader, We are writing to you as a community leader to urgently ask for your assistance in helping NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Illinois are on the rise, and all of us must continue to take aggressive action to keep our communities safe. With this new virus, we are learning that there is an expanding list of possible symptoms so now, more than ever, we need to get the word out. We ask you and other leaders of your organization to call your members and other community contacts as soon as possible and ask them if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or if any members of their households are experiencing these symptoms. If a person says “yes,” please strongly urge them to contact NorthShore for immediate screening and possible testing. If the answer is “no,” we still remind people to be alert for the virus’s symptoms, to take their temperatures twice daily and to follow the key safety measures we have on our website at northshore.org. Below you will find a “script” for the calls as well as information about COVID-19 symptoms and prevention that we need you to convey. If you would like training, I am happy to hold conference calls with you and other community leaders to walk you through how to best make these calls. Please contact Mark Schroeder at mschroeder@northshore.org / 847.933.6004 if you would like to participate in a call and we will arrange that for you. The effect of this virus can be mitigated with your participation. On behalf of everyone at NorthShore, thank you very much in advance for your help on this urgent and vital public safety issue. Sincerely, Lakshmi K. Halasyamani, MD Chief Quality and Transformation Officer |
