Pope John XXIII Elementary Education Survey

(for parents of children in preschool through 8th grade)

     The Pope John XXII School Board is currently engaged in an effort to assess the strengths and opportunities of Pope John XXII, which is a joint mission of St. Nicholas and St. Mary Parishes. We recognize that parents consider many important factors when making school decisions for their children, and we respect the choices you have made. We would greatly appreciate your help, however, in understanding your perceptions of Pope John XXIII School, the seriousness with which you considered it, and the factors that led you to choose another school. Please help us understand your views by taking a brief survey. This will help us to improve the Pope John XXIII School offering and also enable us to better understand the views and needs of those who have made different choices.

     While the survey is offered by the Archdiocese of Chicago, your responses will be specific to Pope John XXIII School so that we can better understand parents' views in our specific community. To access the survey, please go to the following link:

In English:     https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SchoolSurveyEnglish

En espanol:   https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SchoolSurveySpanish

The survey will be available online until February 6. Thank you in advance for your participation.

The St. Nick's List
The St. Nick's List is a basic directory of registered parishioners who have job skills they want to offer. It is a link between those who need services and those who provide services. It is an opportunity for us to think globally, but hire and work locally. The St. Nick's List is an on-line directory that is also available in print in the Parish Office. Please visit it at St Nick's List

Es un vínculo entre personas que requieren servidios y las que proveen servicios. Es una oportunidad de pensar mundialmente, pero de contratar y trabajar localmente. RCIA
(Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process for those considering becoming Catholic. Specifically, it is:

  • For those who are not baptized and are in the process of making a decision to become Catholic;
  • For those who were baptized in another faith and are thinking of becoming Catholic;
  • For those who were baptized Roman Catholic and have not received Eucharist or Confirmation.

The process is designed to assist those interested in Catholicism to learn about our faith, our tradition, and our celebrations. Each person is invited to reflect on his/her own relationship with God and the faith community. We journey through this process together, assisting each other in our response to God’s call.

If you or someone you know might be interested in participating in the RCIA, please call Sr. Christina at 847.864.1185, x 23 for more information. Our sessions are held on Mondays at 7:00 pm in the Parish Office though other arrangements can be made.
